Understanding our natural world is a complex task and throughout his academic career Thor has applied a wide range of different techniques to answer questions related to biodiversity. Recently his focus shifted to using remote sensing techniques combined with emerging statistical techniques to further the analyses of big aerial data sets to monitor biodiversity. At Sky Pilot Thor focusses on academic development and dreams of writing algorithms to automatically detect birds in UAV footage.

Having over four years of experience as operations management, Dustin Wales has worked on projects across a variety of terrain and scope. Ranging from Arctic marine mammals to high mountain slopes. With both advanced and reviewers UAV certificates from Transport Canada, Dustin is prepared for any mission type. Emphasizing in his work that safety and quality are the two most important aspects of his job.
